About Peter
This is a tribute to Peter Graves. Peter Aurness (known professionally as Peter Graves), was an American film and television actor. He was known for his starring role in the television series Mission: Impossible from 1967 to 1973, and its revival, from 1988 to 1990. He was the younger brother of actor James Arness.
Peter Graves was born Peter Aurness in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the son of Ruth (née Duesler), a journalist, and Rolf Cirkler Aurness, who worked in business. Peter Graves was of German and Norwegian descent, and the younger brother of actor James Arness (Gunsmoke). He attended Southwest High School (Class of 1944) and spent two years in the US Army Air Force before attending the University of

Peter Graves appeared in more than seventy films, TV series and TV movies.
On October 30, 2009 Graves was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Peter Graves was awarded a Golden Globe Award in 1971 for his role as Jim Phelps in the series Mission: Impossible. He also received nominations for Emmy Awards and Golden Globe awards in other seasons of that show.
Peter Graves passed away on the 14th March 2010. This is a memorial to honour his life and his career. May he rest in peace.
