About Gareth
This is an online tribute to Gareth Swift. Gareth was only 19 and a hooker at Featherstone Rovers. He was tragically killed when the car he was travelling in crashed.
Featherstone Rovers chief executive Andy Prout paid tribute to Mr Swift and said the club was devastated.
Mr Prout said: "Gareth was the life and soul of the party. He bonded with absolutely everyone he met.
"He had a very promising future at the club and had figured in the first team plans."
He added: "Everyone is just devastated, such shocking news, you can't comprehend and contemplate something like this, you don't know what to do or what to say, we're at a loss."
