About Peter
This is a memorial to the actor and panto writer Peter Denyer, best known for his role in the TV sitcom Please Sir, who died at the age of 62. Born in 1947, Peter Denyer’s first professional acting role was at the age of 19, when he appeared in The Stirrings in Sheffield on Saturday Night at the Playhouse in Sheffield. He is best remembered for playing Dennis Dunstable in Please Sir, which was based around a fictitious South London comprehensive and which ran for four series. Denyer also appeared in shows such as Dear John, Emmerdale and The Bill, before moving away from acting and into writing, directing and producing pantomimes. This memorial is a tribute to his life and his achievements.
