My thoughts and prayers go out to James' family. I never met him face to face, however through shared online interest I got to know him as the funny, smart individual he was. I'll always remember our conversations with a smile and a laugh because I know that's how he'd want it. RIP, friend.

It is with a saddened heart I write this small token of my appreciation to a man I never had the chance to meet face to face. An online interest we shared, and through that interest I grew to think of him as a fine young man. Even in the U.S. James, you are and will always be sorely missed. You elated many people in your life and it is so sad that you left this world before the world could have the chance to know who you truly were. An impact on the lives

Never met James in person, and didn't know him all that well at all, only through a shared online interest, but even with this limited knowledge I knew him to be a great guy, carefree and intelligent, funny and positive. Know that people across the world are mourning this loss, from where I sit in Australia, to our mutual friends in America and across Europe, we mourn the loss but are honored to have had the privilege of knowing James in some way or other

With proud thanksgiving, a mother for her children, England mourns for her dead across the sea. Flesh of her flesh they were, spirit of her spirit, Fallen in the cause of the free. Solemn the drums thrill; Death august and royal Sings sorrow up into immortal spheres, There is music in the midst of desolation And a glory that shines upon our tears. They went with songs to the battle, they were young, Straight of limb, true of eye, steady and aglow. They were

At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them. They mingle not with their laughing comrades again; They sit no more at familiar tables of home; They have no lot in our labour of the day-time; They sleep beyond England's foam. But where our desires are and our hopes profound, Felt as a well-spring that is hidden from sight, To the innermost heart

I was appalled to read about another soldier losing their life. Especially someone so young. From what I have read, James was an amazing person who really touched those around him. It is a really sad loss and my heart goes out to all of those he worked with and his family. x
