This is an online obituary dedicated to Ricky Adams. Ricky Lee Adams was a retired professional baseball player who played 3 seasons for the California Angels and San Francisco Giants of Major League Baseball.
On June 7, 1977 he was drafted by the Houston Astros in the first round, as the 14th pick, of the 1977 amateur draft. They released him April 4, 1980. On May 2, 1980 he signed as a free agent with the California Angels. On October 15, 1984 he was granted free agency and on December 25, 1984 he signed with the San Francisco Giants.
Ricky Adams died on October 28th, 2011. The Angels organization left the following announcement:
"The Angels organization and their alumni are deeply saddened

Rick Adams was my hitting coach for a long time. Rick made me a lot of who I am today at the plate. He always looked out for me and corrected the tiniest things in my swing which were unseeable to everyone else. Rick was a great mentor in my life and will never be forgotten.
