Jeanne A. Shore, 85, of Youngstown, Ohio, formerly of Canfield, OH, and Center Twp., passed away Thursday, February 16, 2012, in the Omni Manor Health Care Center, Youngstown, OH.
Born September 9, 1926, in Mt. Pleasant, PA, a daughter of the late Arthur and Kathryn Butler Grafton, she was Catholic by faith.
Jeanne was your typical homemaker and mother of four in the early 1960s. At the age of 39, she decided to fulfill her lifelong dream to be an educator. She earned her B.S. degree at Geneva College in Early Childhood Education and furthered her education by earning a Master's degree at Slippery Rock. She continued her education with doctoral courses at the University of Pittsburgh. She began her teaching

About Jeanne
career in Calcutta, OH, and retired as a Reading Specialist with the Ambridge Area School District. Jeanne loved all types of music including classical, jazz and country western. She enjoyed creating charcoal sketches, square dancing, horseback riding and playing the steel guitar. Her passion was her profession.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Shore, in 2002; a daughter, Paulette L. Rickert, in 2010; a son, Lewis M. Shore, in 1987, and two brothers, Raymond and Dwayne Grafton.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy D. Shore and Kenny Pingatore, Conway; a son and daughter-in-law, Randall and Derry Shore, Barking Essex, England; nine grandchildren, Brandy C. Pingatore DeChellis,

Pingatore, Conway; Diana Rickert and Jamie Rickert, both of Rhinelander, WI; Apryl Rickert, Wasau, WI; Randy Shore, Ambridge; Sara (Shore) Thompson, Wampum; Marqui Shore Lolly, Loganville, GA, and Jaci Shore; 16 great-grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Lois Grafton and Gerald Kelly, North Lima, OH; a sister-in-law, Barb Grafton Kellerman and her husband, Joseph, Blairsville, PA, and a beloved friend, Martin Crawford, Canfield, OH.
There will be no public visitation. A private blessing service will be held Tuesday, February 21, 2012, at 12 noon in the WILLIAM MURPHY FUNERAL HOME INC., 349 Adams St., Rochester. Entombment will follow in Beaver Mausoleum.
