About Jonathan
He whom you loved and lost is no longer where he was; he is now wherever you are. - Saint John Chrysostom.
A Colorado native, Jonathan Keisling has fished his home rivers for many years. The Blue and South Platte Rivers are where he cut his teeth in the art of fly fishing.
Jonathan is passionate about fishing and that is easy to see when you meet him. He spends most of his time on the water with clients or fishing on his own. He also devotes time to tying custom fly orders, presenting seminars on European nymphing techniques, and instructing on the basics of fly fishing.
Jonathan enjoys every aspect of fly fishing from entomology to casting technique. He is especially enthusiastic about helping his

“Aside from having the best job in the world, I like to be involved with the sport off of the river as much as free time allows. Presenting various fly fishing seminars and taking an active role as a member of Trout Unlimited, help keep me immersed in the sport. The best thing about being a guide is that I am able to assist in and experience the thrill of catching ‘the first fish’ or that ‘monster rainbow’.”
Jonathan is a member of the Cutthroat Chapter of Trout Unlimited and a member of the Solitude Fly Company Fly Design Team. His series of Czech nymphs were created specifically for the waters he fishes.

Jonathan was one of the nicest guys I have ever met. I cannot imagine how many people are going to miss him. The memorial service was a amazing tribute to Jonathan and it was great to see how many lives he touched. We could not have selected a better godfather for Sam. It deeply saddens me that Jonathan will not be able to teach him how to go fly fishing. Scott

My first guided fly fishing trip was with Jonathan and a close friend of mine. When Jon and I met on the Dream Stream it was as if we had known each other for years and were best of friends. As I got to know Jon more over time it became evident that he was that type of person. He had the golden touch when it came to making one feel at home with him. That day on the river will be galvinized in my memory forever with laughter and fish a plenty. I'm now

As a type A personality, I never thought I would come to love the serenity and pure joy of standing in a river casting a fly. Jonathan gave me the gift of learning to love the river, the cast, the catch, or not! He also gave me the opportunity to share in a sport that my husband loves...one I never would have tried without the encouragement and patience of Jonathan. He made it a transformational experience for me, from the first time I met him and he commented

on my "hillbilly cowboy" hat...I was hooked! We never know when such moments will stir a passion that we would have never known, if it were not for a pivitol person who guided the way...for me, that was Jonathan. I am so grateful and appreciate of the time he spent with this rookie, me, who had just had a manicure and wondered if I actually had to "touch" the fish? Who would have thought that at the end of that day, I would be dreaming of returing to the river to do it all over again. And I have, many times since. Thank you, Jonathan, for the gift that will
