I was thinking of you today on the first anniversary of your death. I was remembering you sitting next to me cutting out contact paper flowers with a pair of tiny scissors and those big hands of yours. Then telling me where to place them on my love is poster. I still have that poster and can't look at it without thinking of you.I wish I could have seen you again. After all these years ,I never got over you. Rest in peace Mario. Janetta

I read about Mario's passing in the LA Times and my heart did not want to believe what I was reading.
I met him in January 1972. He was and always will be the most handsome man I have ever seen. He could have easily ben a top model. When he dressed up he looked like he walked out of the pages of GQ magazine. He was very tall, well built, with beautiful olive skin, a mass of wild black curly hair, that wonderful large

Italian nose, and warm brown eyes that looked right through you and could sum you up in 2 seconds. He had a great personality! He was funny, outspoken, smart, charming and so talented. He had a great bass- baritone voice, and sang in many operas. Everyone loved him! The men wanted to be like him and hang out with him and the women all wanted to be his girl!
Mario came to the USA in his 20's and he loved this country! I remember being with him one time when some guy was running this country down. I thought he was

going to knock the jerk through the wall. When people who were born here stood silent, he was the one that defended the USA. I always admired him for that.
Mario loved dogs. When my dog got lost he went to the pound and got me a little black Cockapoo. He named her Gillope. I've had a lot of animals in my life but she will always be my favorite. I don't know if it was because we went through a lot of hard times together or because Mario gave her to me. It's probably the latter of the two. A kind of funny story of

Mario's love of dogs was when we got into a bad argument one time and we didn't speak for days. Right before we stopped speaking Mario told me I could no longer walk his dog or "doggie sit" on the rare occasions he couldn't take his dog with him. In Mario's mind not being allowed to do those things was a great punishment! We made up and my "doggie" rights were reinstated! I can laugh about it now but at the time , boy did I want to smack him!

16,2015 at the age of 80. He was laid to rest in Sulmona.
Everyone who ever knew him, loved him and will always miss him. I wish that I could have seen him just one more time. Maybe if I get lucky and I end up "up there" where you are I'll run into you. That truly would be Heaven!
Rest in peace my dear Mario. You were the very best this world had to offer and will always be in my heart. I absolutely adored you.
